What is Dengue Fever?

Dengue fever is a viral infection transmitted by Aedes species mosquitoes, commonly found in tropical and subtropical regions. It causes a range of symptoms, including high fever, severe headache, muscle and joint pain, nausea, and vomiting.

How Dengue Fever Spreads

Dengue viruses are transmitted primarily through the bites of infected Aedes mosquitoes. These mosquitoes become infected after feeding on an infected person, and they can then transmit the virus to other people they bite. The virus can also spread from an infected pregnant woman to her unborn child or through blood transfusions.
